Pet Peeve Essay On Chewing Gum

Walking in the hallways/ stairs Walking in a school hallway during passing time can always be a hassle. People like to stop and talk with their friends, play around, and walk very slow. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people stop while there is a group of other people behind them trying to get by. Also I don’t like when people walk side by side and take up half of the whole hallway space. Another pet peeve is when people walk on the left side of the hallway when they’re supposed to be on the right side. There have been plenty of times when I was walking down the hallway and someone did something to make me late to class. There was this time my freshman year I was trying to rush to class, but there was a group of people in front of …show more content…
I would sometimes agree with that only to a certain extent. Sometimes when people chew gum they go way over board with it anit no way in how someone can concentrate while chewing gum like a cow. To they seem to be more focused on the gum flavor more then what are doing. I remember a time this used to come to class everyday chewing gum. Every time she would sit by me I would hear her just chewing away. This had had went on for a very long time until one in art class we had to do a critique. When we do critiques it must be quiet so we could hear what people have to say about their work. Well class got quiet to let someone have the floor I could hear them talking, but I and everyone else could hear her chewing her gum. The teacher had finally said something which I was happy about because I could no longer put up with all her loud chewing and gum popping she was doing. I understand that gum is good, but people shouldn’t chew like it’s their last meal. Another thing with people they chew their gum they make a really loud popping noise. That really annoys me because they can be in quiet area and they pop their gum which sometimes can throw me off, and I lose

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

The Crucible was a play written by Arthur Miller about the Salem Witch trials that took place in 1692. Throughout the play, there were many false accusations of witchcraft, most of which were driven by vengeance. The English III class was told to relate the events that occurred in the play to a current issue society faces. There are many scenarios that pertain to false accusations, some of which happen at Bellevue High School. In the modern society, it is possible to relate these false accusations to teenagers’ attacks on their own peers.…

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…

For some students getting to classes between the magical ten-minute break is equivalent to an obstacle course. “Some days, between the high school students and the steady stream of texters, who fail to look up from their phones or walk at a New York pace, I barely make it to class on time, “says Carolina Guarrella, a student here at Brooklyn College. For Guarrella navigating this obstacle almost proved deadly when she almost got run over by a bus while crossing Bedford Avenue to get to the other side of campus. “I was rushing to class,” she said I was nervous I would be a bit late, so I was not being as attentive as I should have been.” On this particular day, her heeled boots didn’t help matters as she rapidly made her way from James Hall…

This is especially true if students are plagued by attention deficit disorder, or simply have difficulty concentrating. There are some things in this world that I simply can't stand. Some of the worst are getting sneezed on, people clicking pens in class, getting homework on a friday night, and when someone leaves the bag of chips on the counter open and then the chips are all soggy and stale the next time you go to eat them. There's nothing worse than a wet juicy sneeze straight to the face. One of my biggest fears/pet peeves is getting sneezed on.…

A Lenient Form of Public Discipline at Trinity Hall Because Trinity Hall is a new school, an honor system has not been fully established for students. When developing an honor system, one must look at how other schools discipline their students and decide whether or not those punishments fit Trinity Hall’s mission and core values of respect, leadership, faith, and perseverance. Corporal punishment in schools has changed drastically over the past 50 years in the harshness in which students are publicly disciplined with. Although it is still allowed in some states, teachers used to hit students by spanking them or using a ruler to hit their hand. This form of punishment has evolved into public shaming which is often more embarrassing and causes…
