In the article, “Overpopulation or Too Many Unwanted Pets? Perspective on Concepts and Management Approaches,” by Bauer et al., the authors focus on the concerning of the overpopulated pets, and why there are shelters for these unwanted pets. In the article, the authors claims that since the past, the problem with overpopulation of unwanted pets is always a major concern for the public's. People are often get bored of their pets; these owners would give their pets to their friends, to other family members, to the animal shelters, and even set them free in the streets. The shelters, then need to cured these unwanted animals and quickly send them to new homes. If there are no animal shelters, then unwanted pets would be everywhere in publics.

Also the authors are very heavily focusing on the statistics and percentage rates for many of topics such as the percentage of unwanted pets and the numbers of pets that get adopt from time to time, etc. Instead, with this short of an article, the authors should focus on the problems with some numbers to help support their claims. Other than these problems, the authors have straight on getting right to the point of what they are claiming. With a little bit of story around the issue, it makes this source to be one of the best source out there. The article is very easy to understand with examples to help clear up the confusing parts. The authors do a very good job on telling where the researches they use in the article come from, and when it took place. It shows that the source is trustable with research proves. Moreover, the article fills with helpful pictures, examples, and proves that help me to understand the article better about why there are shelters for unwanted pets.
