8.11.12: It was reported to me by a student that Miss. Gomes placed him in a seat at the front of the room facing the wall were he could not see the board. He told me that when he moved to see she told him to not look at the board and could he not hear. After speaking with Mrs. Gomes she told me she did place him at the desk by the wall but he did not need to see the board she was just talking to the class. I contacted mom and let her know of the situation and that we would be keeping an eye on…
After today’s class discussion, I was able to learn new and different ways to take data. It was interesting to see how similar and different recording data can be depending on the goal and disorder. For example, last semester I did not find it as hard to track data for my accent modification client. However, this semester I have changed the way I keep track of data during sessions. My client is working on basic age appropriate sounds mainly because she exhibits a lot of phonological processes.…
During the first half of the semester for ENC 1102, I believe that my writing skills have improved from ENC 1101; some of which are getting to page length, correctly citing a source, and incorporating how a quote is related to my argument. I still have some errors within my writing that I have not quite figured out how to tackle. Some concepts that I have not gotten down to a tee must be coming up with a thesis statement, basic grammar errors, introducing quotations, and repetition. I have also learned how to distinguish the difference between a personal essay and an argumentative essay with first hand on the two types and how why my grade differed from essay one and two.…

This weeks lesson over the 10/22 Ruger was very intresting being that I do not own one and have never really wanted to until this lesson. For me I thought it was just a simple 22 long rifle that you can put a cheap scope on since there hardly any recoil. After reading this lesson I found that there is tones of accessories out there. I did'nt even know there was TruGlo optic sights that were made for the rifle.…
6. Honestly I am beginning to see an improvement in my writing. Overtime I have made less mistakes in my writing as well as understand my assignments. Therefore these changes allow me to construct stronger sentences and that is when the skills I learned manifest in my writing.…
I have taken two AOK1 courses: CIS 102T (Intergenerational Computing) and POL 110 (Leadership and Advocacy). For CIS 102T the professor matched me with two elderly people at a nursing home. I visited the nursing home twice a week and taught two senior citizens how to use technology while checking their blood pressure and weight to ensure that they were healthy. My goal was to help senior citizens learn to use technology in order to improve their lives. I taught the seniors I was assigned to how to uses: social media, email, Microsoft office, YouTube, Skype, online banking etc.…

Was the objective specific enough for you to have a focus? - Yes, the objective was specific enough for me to have a focus. I was easily able to describe the impact of inventions, including the cotton gin, the reaper, the steamboat, and the steam locomotive, on life in America. Students were also able to demonstrate their knowledge of westward expansion and reform in America from 1801 to 1861 by describing those same inventions.…
In the Spring of 2016 when I took WRTG 101, I terrified of failing. Before taking WRTG 101, I would always struggle with writing. This class has taught me many important and essential techniques to be successful in my writing career. Considering that Spanish is my first language, reading and writing are a weakness of mine. I have always been afraid of attending an English class for the simple fact of having to write essays.…
When I considered taking WRTG 101 this semester I was unsure how much it would affect my writing style. I have always had issues with the strength of my writing and my overall writing style. Whether it was run on sentences, proper citations, an overall passive writing style, or proper use of pronouns my writing style needed a tune up. After taking this class I have an improved overall understanding of the writing process and how to apply it in different writing situations. Run on Sentences were a concern before I took the class, however now I have a much better understanding of proper sentence structures.…
These five domains consist of physical, cognitive, language, emotional, and social learning. My lesson plans start with objectives in mind when meeting all these developmental domains. My goal is to create activities that encourage a child to identify what the lesson involves, discuss openly the child’s perspective, deduce the content of the lesson, and apply the knowledge learned. I also believe that all children need the opportunity to make their own choices, even the choice to participate in learning. With this in mind, planning activities to keep the children engaged is of great importance to me.…
Over the summer, I had the unique opportunity to be a volunteer sidewalker and leadwalker at a Therapeutic Riding Center called Partners for Progress. There, I engaged with kids who had physical and cognitive disabilities find confidence and independence through riding specially-trained horses. The experience taught me that instilling inspiration into the minds of kids does truly make a difference. I decided to bring this mindset to one of my other passions: computer science. I created and led a coding event at a local library to get elementary-school kids excited about computer science.…
In order to have an effective lesson plan there has to be five components. These components are explicit instruction, teacher modeling, guided practice, independent practice, and monitoring progress. During explicit instruction the teacher clearly…
This helps unfold the aim and the activities will give the student a concrete understanding. d. Materials of instruction-This part of the lesson plan is important because I will need a list of the materials that will be needed throughout the lesson. If I didn’t add this to lesson, it is likely I could be underprepared when forming the lesson and I am without a specific material. e. Summary /Application-…
