We are going to undertake Steeple analysis on Zara and McDonald’s to identify the main drivers impacting on HR strategy and HR practices within the companies. Steeple analysis is the external environmental factors that affect the organisation. According to Daniel Farnham a Steeple analysis is more in-depth analysis compared to PESTLE and is classified as Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political, Legal and Ethical.

So, since customers are now more price sensitive since the recession Zara has escaped the economic recession according to the Canadian Business profits rose by 30%. Even with all this success in a recession the company is still going to face tough times.HR strategy Zara should implement would be for staff members to have targets each month to help them be more motivated in their job and the HR practice that would be implement would be a rewards scheme if the employee met their targets.
