Pesticides, chemical compounds used to kill of unwanted plants, bugs, fungi and animals, yet wildlife and the human race have fell victim to highly toxic chemicals. It is estimated nearly 20,000 people annually receive emergency care for an actual or suspected pesticide poisoning, and approximately ten percent of them are admitted to the hospital. People are putting themselves at risk every time they decide to consume conventionally grown foods -foods that are grown with an immense amount of pesticides. As a result, each year 20-40 people die of pesticide poisoning in the United States. This number may seem small compared to the billions of people in the world, but it can affect anyone at anytime. Antioxidants can reduce serious cases of neurodegenerative disease, cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer.
