Geography- Peru is the third biggest country in South America with an average temperature from 70 degrees fahrenheit in January decreasing to 50 degrees fahrenheit in June on the coast in Lima which is Peru’s capital city. The weather depends on what part of the city you're in like if you're in the snowy mountains, it can be really cold but if you're on the coast it could be hot but the temperature also varies between day to night more than seasonally. There is limited rainfall near the coast and by the warm Pacific Ocean is a current called El Niño that appears every five or six years near the Peruvian coast. Their president is elected by popularity and run for a five-year term and there are 120 members who are elected to be in the Congress of the Republic. The American Popular Revolutionary Alliance is Peru’s most significant political party along with the armed forces who are also a powerful faction in the political life in Peru. The elections are interfered by the military many times to either cancel the elections or gather dictatorial control. People in Peru are unhappy with their government because their are a lot of conflict between the government and the People's Guerrilla Army within the country that's killing people and destroying areas and having people to have the need to take precaution and the few million who are poor while people in indigenous origin are in the deepest poverty. The pollution has caused thousands of deaths but luckily the capital city Lima pollution levels has improved but it is still extremely high at a level of 36 while other cities like Ventanilla is at a population level of 58 and cities in the south are at a 29. The main cause of the air pollution is the fuel use in vehicles and other machines. Flooding and mudslides have killed a lot of people and have driven them to have to leave their home when the weeks of rain caused rivers to rise since the beginning of the month when the rainy season started. It's so severe that many cities had declared state of emergency that is a situation of national danger or disaster where the government has to suspend normal constitutional procedures in order to regain
