(Attention Getter) March Madness, Frozen Four, Final Four, these are the major NCAA tournament games that are time consuming for college athletes.
(Connect Topic to Audience) Because most of us watch our favorite college sport in tournament time, we don’t realize how much time and effort athletes put into their respective sport.
After looking deeper into college athletic statistics, I wondered how they can keep their grades up and make some money.
(Credibility Statement) After playing sports for most of my career and researching my topic, I came to the conclusion that college athletes should be paid.

Athletes put in a lot of time at their respective arena or court in their off time.
“For example, athletes who spend 90 hours a week training and studying will often find themselves starving well after the university’s dining facilities have closed”(According to Dave Anderson in the July, 9, 2016 article “Top Ten Reasons College Athletes Should Be Paid.”)

“College athletes who appear on television should be paid out of any money received by their respective schools from the television networks.” (According to John Kiernan in the June 30, 2016 article "Should College Athletes Be Paid? Experts Weigh In.")
(Internal Summary) Athletes are at their playing field and in the weight room all the time outside of class.
(Transition) Finally, if college athletes would get paid they would work better with their money,
Athletes would leave college knowing how to manage their money.
“Whether you are an athlete or a regular student, figuring out how to go from barely scraping to having a little extra money” (According to Dave Anderson in the July, 9, 2016 article “Top Ten Reasons College Athletes Should Be
