Rosa Parks once said that “Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they have to meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome”. This is my favourite quote from Rosa Parks. I really love this quote because in this quote, it shows that we can’t avoid racism if we do nothing. we can’t achieve anything without doing anything. That’s why this quote shows us that we should face the challenge not by running away from it but to overcome this challenge until it is no longer a challenge for us. Just like what Rosa Parks did, she accepted the challenge. Rosa Parks was an activist in the civil rights movement. She was born on 4th February 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama and died on 24 October 2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Rosa Parks …show more content…
One of the bus in Alabama that Rosa Parks boarded in, got more white people that the driver’s expected so the driver told the blacks people to move back one more row. There are four people who sit on the first row of the coloured people. Rosa Parks was also sitting on the first row for the coloured people. 3 of them obeyed the driver’s order unlike Rosa Parks, she refused to move because she knew she was on the right seat. Because of her act of refusal, she got arrested. From that day until now, many people have gotten inspired by her story including the name that is familiar to us Dr. Martin Luther King. Although Rosa Parks was not famous but her story inspired many people around the world. Due to her story, many people are brave now to fight for justice. They are no longer scared of being mistreat. They are no longer scared of being unique. “following the rules is a must, if you don’t want to be in prison” maybe this kind of thought is the thought that they used to think and teach their children. Without knowing this kind of thought is the one that will turn them into a timid person because they just follow rules even though, they know that was not …show more content…
Just because he flirted with a young white woman, it doesn’t mean that he needed to be murdered!. Actually there were several people who got arrested before Rosa Parks for doing the same thing as her. It’s just that Rosa Parks’s story is more popular to the society. Rosa Parks is also important because she have once helped Martin Luther King, Jr to free black people. She also believe in freedom and she also believe that we all should be treated the same. This is shown in one of her quotes “I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom and equality and justice and prosperity for all people.” I really admire Rosa Parks because she is not a person who just follows everything but she evaluates it first before following it so if it is bad then she will not follow. She even has ever made a national headlines when she refused to give up her seat to a white man. This shows that her act towards this situation was a surprise to the world that people rarely do the same thing because most people aren’t brave enough to do it. By looking at Rosa Parks’s experience, we need to be able to do the same thing as well. We can’t just follow rules or laws that we know it is
