Thank You For Arguing what Aristotle, Lincoln, and Homer Simpson can Teach Us about The Art of Persuasion is an extremely well written book. It teaches the art of rhetoric, and Jay Heinrichs makes learning interesting by infusing lessons with current pop-culture which makes it highly relatable. In particular, I found Chapter 25, “Give a Persuasive Talk” to be both compelling and helpful. In essence, rhetoric forms the basis of an extremely important skill set that everyone should be given the opportunity to learn and benefit from.

Heinrichs combines the art of rhetoric with modern culture to make lessons more appealing to young readers. He uses relatable, realistic examples to prove his ideas and shows how to use rhetoric in real life situations.

Persuasion is a very important skill and I believe that it’s one necessary to have in life. Today's generation is missing out on knowledge that could make a difference in their lives. Rhetoric is a very valuable skill set that needs to be taught, as it can be very useful a person’s future. It could help them with job interviews, by persuading a potential employer to hire them. Using rhetoric could also help with getting promotions. Imagine persuading your boss to promote you from being an associate to Department Manager. It will also better people in their academics, their term papers would be much more persuasive. Rhetoric could also strengthen people's personal relationships, by helping them get through points of contention and conflict. The art of rhetoric has so many practical uses and so much potential, we should teach others how to use
