I. Have you ever spent too much time watching your favorite TV and lost sleep over it?
A. You know you’re supposed to do your homework, but the TV programs have your favorite celebrities so you cannot stop watching them.
B. According to the author Demitrios Kalogeropoulos, most recently accessed on December 3, a normal American’s average time of watching television is 4 hours per day. This may not seem like a long time, but it really adds up.
C. Too much media may also affect in a negative way because companies take advantage of people’s dependence on media in order to make more money.
D. Today, I am going to talk about the causes of media’s negative effects, the physical negative effects, and lastly social negative effects.

IV. Thirdly, I will talk about some of the negative effects of media on our social relationships.
A. Media disconnects one from society by limiting people to the cyber world.
B. People think Social media’s “friends” represent their social relationships and devalue their real relationships with friends and family.
C. Also, cyber bullying is one of the problems that makes targeted people suffering.
D. According to scholarly journal, “Bullying takes on a whole new dimension in cyberspace,” people tend to act very boldy in cyberspace because everyone cannot see who are them and cannot be blamed for their actions.
E. It says that many people said “relational bullying can hurt more than physical violence, as people "remember hurtful words for a longer time and emotional wounds are harder to heal"
V. In conclusion, we need to make better decisions about what we will and will not see through the media.
