Organization
What did you do to ensure that your speech was organized/accessible to the audience?
The way I organized my speech was that I had my ideas on my phone and I used it as a guide to present my persuasive speech. The words were in a small font on my phone so I kind of took a bit of pauses here and there that caused me to sound less smooth while presenting. However, I was able to fit in the information and evidence into my presentation that I did not exactly remember in my mind through the use of the information that I had accessible on my phone.
What could you have done to make your ideas more organized/accessible to the audience?

The part of my delivery that I improved on the most is the minimization of using go-to words and phrases in comparison to my informative speech. I noticed myself not using “basically” or “like” as my key phrases. It felt a bit more soothing without the repetition of words that I used to adopt. Also, I noticed that my eye contact had gotten better from the informative speech. I did not often make it seem clear that I looked at the computer as much as last time.
What aspects of your delivery do you think you will attempt to improve next time?
In terms of the aspects of my delivery that I need to improve, I should minimize the pauses that I have a habit of doing during presentations. These pauses usually make the presentation sound less smooth and less confident when I talk. Also, what ends up in result of these pauses is that my eye contact is not focused onto the audience when I make breaks. My eyes wandered to the ceiling or table whenever it happened. I should improve upon these next time I give a

I have never had trouble talking in front of large groups or presenting, in fact speeches are always projects I look forward to in class. However, I still believe I could work on being more effective when delivering my speach. The two main problems I have seen wish my speaking is first, I always start talking too fast which makes it hard for the audience to understand me. Second, in school sometimes we are forced to give a presentation about a topic we are not always personally enthusiastic about. I need to improve my level of enthusiasm even when I am not interested in the topic because it effects the ability for me to convey my points to my…

After watching my speech on video I recognized several things that beforehand I believed I had done well, and upon watching the speech, did do very well. Firstly was my organization, but mainly my introduction and main points. Both of these had all aspects covered and were easy to notice during the speech. Secondly I thought I did very well with my volume, rate, and vocal variety. These verbal delivery attributes came off very well in my speech and I was very happy to see that I could still execute these aspects.…

However, in this speech I did a much better job talking with my hands than in any other of my speeches. WEAKNESSES Just like how I had plenty of strengths, there are definitely still things I need to work on. My speech would have gone so much better if I was better organized and practiced more. I kind of just threw some important information together without thinking about everything that should be included in the speech. The information I included was really good, however I just needed to add more and organize it better.…

It probably could have made my speech better and would have been easier to work on my body language. (3) Repeating words. Since I didn’t have an outline with me on stage, I was basing my entire speech off my memory. Like with anything, it's important to look at the negatives and figure out how to fix them, it's also important to look at the positives and figure out how to retain them. I have three goals for my next presentation and I have figured out how to achieve those goals. My first goal is to maintain good eye contact with my audience and I can do this by being more comfortable with what I need to say. In order to be more comfortable I will need to review and practice what I want to say more often. Another goal is to continue my strength of good organization.…

After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them. At the introduction of my speech I believe I started out fairly strong and gave a good run down of the coming speech.…

The first thing I noticed in my video is that I say “umm” way too often. The first time I said, “umm” in my speech was at 0:10 and continued to say it throughout my whole entire speech. I found it quite annoying when listening to myself. It is my go to word when I am nervous and it is something I really need to work on. The second thing I noticed is that I don’t look professional when giving my speech because instead of standing up straight and tall, I lean to the side and kind of stick my hip out.…

Final Persuasive Speech Reflection Believe me when I say that my progress from then to now has come a long way. Initially after giving the persuasive speech, I felt that there has been little process in all of this time that I had spent trying to learn to communicate more effectively. Worst of all perhaps, I felt powerless to do anything to change this. This was my most practiced speech and it did not feel that way. Even the thought of having to go back and essentially relive those 7 minutes was not something I was particularly excited about.…

In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different. It made it easier for each of us to better understand one another in how our unique personalities can be a challenge when working with others.…

A couple things I would change are how I plan out developing the speech and how much to practice it. For developing the speech, I need to be sure of what exactly I want to talk about at the interview. I felt that my questions were interesting, but a couple were somewhat unneeded. However, I came to the conclusion that it is better to have too much than not enough for an interview because I had enough information to work with. Also, I should have taken more time to thoroughly practice my speech out loud in front of others.…
