Because non-citizens tended to favor Democrats (Obama won more than 80 percent of the votes of non-citizens in the 2008 CCES sample), we find that this participation was large enough to plausibly account for Democratic victories in a few close elections. Non-citizen votes could have given Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health-care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress. .... looking forward to watching the elections unfold victory in North Carolina. It is now safe to assume that the conclusions reached from the data gathered are accurate and do not represent a spurious relationship. The findings from this testing conclude that weather does have a direct effect on voter turnout and voter turnout has a direct effect on party vote share. All of the conclusions are considered statistically important but at times also found to be meaningful. When there is higher voter turnout the Republicans are given an edge over the Democrats. This affected many elections in the biggest way possible, through the Electoral College, and in several instances, in the last half of the 20th century, have also affected which candidate ended up in the white house.…

One example of how the flag is a symbol of life is when people die the veterans, the soldiers or anyone who worked for this country bring all the flags to half-mast to honor the people that die during the incident that occurred. When a flag is old and tattered persons cut the stars out and send them to friends and family so the flag is remembered but isn't “suffering”. The U.S. flag also stands for support.…

With a large number of non-citizens it is possible that the communities do not want the attention that political power may give them. I am disturbed by the number of non-citizens, not for political reasons, for personal. To knowingly come to a country that does not allow you to be counted offers a strong suggestion of how much worse it was in your homeland.…
