I can’t believe that it’s Tuesday already, well I can, the days are just flying by now. I go outside and all the grass is getting green and the apple trees are in green tip stage. It’s amazing to see the plants wake up out of their dormancy and blossom into something so beautiful. Spring is so mesmerizing, so open your eyes go outside and do things, enjoy the beauty and thank God for the days you are given. I’m not here to talk about the seasons tonight though. Tonight I just want to take some time to talk about something that is become a bigger and bigger problem throughout our communities.

Now, I have never tried drugs, and I like to say I never will. Everyday if you look in your local newspapers, or turn on the news channel on your television,

(Please leave in the comments below your thoughts on medical cannabis.) I don’t believe that this is the best idea man has ever had. Yet I’m also not 100% against it. I believe that maybe it could help if properly used. What I don’t believe, is that it should be able to be prescribed for such things as anxiety or depression. Anxiety and depression are very real, but I think there are better ways to cope with them rather than medications. I was talking to a peer not to long about about why cannabis was bad and he was trying to say why it was good. He came up with some fair points, but what he was saying was what happened in only a few specific cases, the doctors prescribed it to them, and most importantly, the cannabis was not used as a preventative. This is where people are screwing up. They think “oh I smoke weed” or whatever it is “I won’t get cancer.” or “It helps with my anxiety”. Okay buddy. Hold up a second. That’s where you’re wrong. Smoking it or however they use it, everyday for your entire life is not likely to keep you from getting cancer. If anything you’ll probably get lung cancer. It affects the respiratory system and when you get high it impacts the performance of your brain, which can lead to you unknowingly doing bad things that could harm yourself or others. It may make you feel good in the moment, but look at the long term effects or the dangerous
