Background: Coupons were first created by the cofounder of Coca-Cola. The coupons, which were hand written, was for a free glass of soda. According to an article from thebalance.com, "Only a small percentage of shoppers (about one percent) redeem coupons. U.S. Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) marketers reportedly distributed coupons valued at $470 billion for products used daily like food, beverages, clothing, tobacco, and household items. The average coupon had a face value of $1.54. Only $4.6 billion coupons were redeemed. Coupons valued at $465 billion went unused."
C. Establish Credibility: I first started couponing 6 years ago when my husband and I bought our first home. With all the expenses we had, I wanted to have money saved in case of an emergency. I have a friend who coupons. She would frequently talk about how much money she saved on household products and personal care products and that I should start couponing. As first-time homeowners, I didn't know what to expect of how much bills will be. I was worried that we wouldn't have enough money to pay for bills and extra to save. That is when I started to learn how to coupon.
D. Preview statement: Today I'm going to talk to you about why you should use coupons when making purchases. Also, where and how to get you

C. Visualization- Let's say, when you walk into Walmart or Target to buy your daily needs, how much do you typically spend? Well, just for these items alone, a bottle of shampoo is $2.99, conditioner is $2.99, detergent is $9.99, and toilet paper is $9.99. That totals out to be $25.96. These items will probably last you about two months. If you were to use coupons on the exact same items, along with sales, you will only be paying an additional $0.96 for twice the amount.
1. Positive - Sometimes you can even get products for free; or even better, get overages from your purchases. For example, this week, at Target when you purchase two CoverGirl Outlast Lipstick for $3.99 each, and combine a 25% off from Target's app along with a $6/2 CoverGirl Products printable coupon, the final cost to you will be $0.
III. Action/Conclusion
A. Brakelight: "In summary, we should all use coupons to help us save and make smarter shopping choices.
B. Summary Statement: Today, you learned about the history of coupons, how much goes unredeemed, why you should use coupons and how much you can

Dollar Tree is a single price variety store that now operates more than 14,000 stores across 48 states and five Canadian provinces (Thomas, 2015). Most all of the products offered by Dollar Tree are priced at $1.00 or less and the company offers products that meet a wide variety of consumers every day needs. According to Parnell (2014), Dollar Tree customers are typically price-conscious consumers who are looking to get the best price available and feel that prices at other chain stores are excessive compared to those of Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree is able to offer its products below chains such as Wal-Mart, Target and others with economies of scale much larger because they sell products that are not commercialized. After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them. At the introduction of my speech I believe I started out fairly strong and gave a good run down of the coming speech.…
