Persuasive Speech On Animal Abuse

Improved Essays
Animal cruelty has been a continuous subject in the North Miami Beach community for quite a while now. I am sure that many people in my community would agree that animal cruelty needs to stop. Laws for animal cruelty need to be strengthened and it all starts by raising awareness. I believe that we can decrease the number of incidents involving animal cruelty and neglect in my community and across the nation. Addressing the importance of proper pet care is just one out of many ways to increase awareness. One alternative way is educating other individuals on reporting animal cruelty. Educating individuals on reporting animal abuse can be especially effective because animal cruelty is tough and overwhelming for teachers as well as their students.

Growing up I was always an animal lover and I still am. When I hear that human beings treat non-human beings less it really rips me apart. “It is said that the Puritans banned bearbaiting, not because of the pain it caused the bears but because of the pleasure it gave the onlookers” (Sandel 53). This quote shows that individuals get pleasure out of seeing the animals suffer in pain during animal cruelty.
