During the adoption process your biggest cost goes to the Adoption Agency and you will most likely spend over $245,000 not including college funds; that’s just the average amount for a middle-aged person. It is also stated that if you are adopting through foster care the price ranges between $0-$2,500. Yes, I know your probably like gosh that’s a lot of money that you would have to spend through the process; is it affordable? Well yes, it is absolutely affordable. These families use things such as grants, fundraising and tax credit to help them through the adoption process. Let’s stop and think and put this in our own perspective. Remember the times where we needed a couple of hundred dollars for band trips, girl scouts or even sport organization, what did we do? Fundraise, we decided to fundraise to reduce the amount of money we would have to pay out of pocket. I feel that adoption should be taken very serious and people should have a choice on whether or not they want to adopt a child.
