Persuasive Speech Against Draftkings

General Purpose: Persuasive
Specific Purpose: To show why people should use daily fantasy websites such as Draftkings and Fanduel while watching sporting events such as NFL, MLB, NBA, Golf and Soccer.
I.) Attention Getter: BY putting just $5 into a contest you could win a prize of $1,000,000 by using these sites. A.)Significance: Draftkings has become the official daily fantasy sports website of ESPN, MLB, and the NFL.
B.) Credibility: My friends and I use Draftkings fairly often to compete and win money while watching sports, Draft Kings also is partnered with ESPN and the NFL.

People believe this is illegal and technically sports betting. It is not.
A.) First Problem: People think employees of these sites have an unfair advantage over regular players playing the sites believing they had more information then normal users. So they won’t play on the sites at all.

b.) I use the sites knowing that employees of the companies are also playing, It doesn’t bother me because they have the same chance to win as I do and they are allowed to play.
c.) They advertise anyone can play on the sites so a Draft King employee can use Fan Duel or vice versa, this shouldn’t be a problem for new players since employees do not have an unfair advantage over a normal user of the site.
C.) Third Problem: People won’t play on these sites because they consider it sports gambling which is illegal, Draft Kings and Fanduel are “games of skill” not sports gambling so it is perfectly legal.
a.) New users should use Draft Kings as an alternative to betting on one team. They can make a team to compete with others by choosing players from several teams. This makes you want to watch multiple games instead of just one game.
b.) Unlike sports betting websites, it is hard to cash out and get your money back, Draft Kings and Fanduel make that easier. Once your done using the site you can get your money back fast by using PayPal or they can send you a check
