Have you ever told yourself to “pause”? Have you ever stopped to take a moment to understand your situation? A situation where you need to mentally sort out how you are truly feeling? I am certain everyone has done so at one point in their life. It is taught in almost every subject to stop, to think, and to look around at your problem with a different point of view. Using the pause button, you may achieve that. With this stand, I would rather pause my life than to rewind it. Rewinding your life may have many advantages. Going back to the past may benefit you by changing your choices that you have done before, which may or may not change future events. You can use this method of going back in the past as trial and error. For example, maybe you have done something incorrectly and you would like to fix it, you may change what you have done to affect your future positively. Also, adding to rewinding, you may enjoy those happy moments again. What would you do if you could freeze your favorite event in time forever? Would it be a blessing or a curse? In “Einstein’s Dream,” his entry for 14 May 1905 gives you a visual about some very interesting contrasting views. The entry talks about how, “There’s a place where time stands still,” things are motionless in time. After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

Time is a gift many take for granted; a gift many use to their advantage and act like it is nothing at all. Yet there are those who use time wisely, taking caution of every second they use. Zora Neale Hurston’s “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” explains how a memory has the capability to stay with one forever no matter the initial impact, and the truth to that memory. “The Things They Carry,” Tim O’Brien’s war story, talks about how time gives one the ability to realize who one is, through all the obstacles one might face. While in “Outliers” Malcom Gladwell stands by the idea that time is a key to success, if one wants anything in life, time is practice to get there.…

When Rabindranath Tagore said, “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water,” he established that you can’t accomplish anything without having to do some type of movement and the experience you get from it. When you're at the bottom of Mount Everest and you're imagining yourself getting to the top, you physically have to do the steps to get the experience from it. You’ll never get anywhere in life if you only wait for the outcome instead of living your life. “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water,” by Rabindranath Tagore connects with extreme sports because a lot of people that do extreme sports have to do some type of work and training to get the top or to the other side of that peak.
