We are often reminded of the greatness we long to achieve. Through other people and forms of media we are reminded that others have achieved what we have not. Reminders are travelers, they tell people about their journeys and the great things they have seen, but at the same time, remind us that we have not lived those things. Even though he was once something to be feared, he is now nothing, so if we are never truly valued forever then we don’t really need to follow those plaguing dreams. He is now only a pathetic and forgotten thing, so if the “king of kings” is now something pathetic and forgotten, then even if we follow those dreams we’ll someday be forgotten. It’s easier to forget the dreams and be a reliable person, follow the masses, be another copy of every other person. Be safe like the ones that didn’t follow their dreams, even if they aren’t completely content with their mundane lives. At least they don’t face any major strain or suffering because they followed their dreams which later broke them when they failed. Just follow the mold and we’ll still be able to enjoy little unimportant things.
