Did you know that cats are one of the animals that can actually cure people? Yeah, that’s right now they may not cure your sickness, but they can cure depression, and loneliness. Now you might be thinking that you are not depressed or lonely, but cats can help with many other things also. They are great friends to have and can make many kids smile and be happy. You are always complaining about Teddy playing video games, but he’s playing video games because he has nothing else to do. So why not get a new cute little kitten? When you get a kitten they are already trained. Many pet places say that kittens are easier to train than dogs and even children! When you buy a kitten there are not many things you have to do to train them, the first thing you do for potty training is put the litter box in a spot that will be easy for the cat to navigate. Next you play with her or him so they are happy, after that put them in the litter box if they start scratching then just wait and see what they do if they do not do anything gently take there paw and move it in a scratching motion to show them how to dig in the litter. And you do this for a few days and eventually the cat will figure it out. Now the thing is you won’t even have to touch the cat when she’s in the litter box trying to learn. I will be more than happy to teach her how to do it, and I will also clean up after her. When you get a cat …show more content…
When you get a kitten it’s not supposed to explore the whole house at one time, so what we could do is keep the cat in my room at first. Since I have a walk in closet we can put the litter box in there. After some time we can let it wander into the other rooms upstairs. And some time later we can introduce Image and the cat, if they get along that will be a win but it might take some time. Since we do have a dog door we will not be allowed to let the cat wander throughout the house, but what we can do is keep it upstairs. We already have a gate so Image will not come upstairs so we won’t have to but a new one, that way the cat will be upstairs and Image will be downstairs. When we get home we can take down the gate when we are paying attention to the cat and Image so that way they can continue to socialize. So when we are gone the gate goes up but when we are home we can take it down. This way we won’t have to worry about them fighting and we won’t have to worry about our kitten

For my clicker training project I used my friends cat Reggie, who is a 4 year old Domestic Short Hair, neutered male. Throughout the training, I didn't do a lot of sessions outside for new learning techniques due to the fact that Reggie tends to get distracted especially from other people and animals. It also seemed that smaller, quieter places, like inside the barn, allowed Reggie to focus easier on my cues. Food as well as praise tends to be a huge motivator for Reggie so changing his rewards sometimes allowed him to stay focused on the task at hand. The issue with this was that some weeks he would be doing really well learning the commands and techniques but the next week he refused to learn or do anything.…

Peacock, Hansen, and Winefield (2012) suggests that companion animal ownership contributes to overall improved well-being. You will never be bored or lonely if you have a companion animal at home. Pets are a great form of emotional support and help with increasing the chemical levels in the brain which produce happiness. When having a rough day people often confide in their pet rather than an actual person (although they cannot speak back.) Maybe that's why they are so special. For many years, pets have become a support system in a person’s daily life.…
