Personal Narrative: Never, Never Give Up !

Cancer kills the lives of numerous people every year, even your loved ones. My Aunt Laura died from a yearlong fight with cancer in 2011. She passed away; unfortunately, at an extremely young age holding her loved ones in her hands as she took her last few breaths before leaving this world and saying goodbye. Even though she had cancer, Laura did not let this stop her from living her life to the fullest. Laura was an overcomer against cancer because of her strong faith in Jesus Christ. My Aunt Laura left a legacy to the world by her indelible saying: no matter how hard times may be, “Never, Never, Never give up!” Laura Jensen was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer in 2010. Cancer did not hold Laura back from what she put her focus on. She would still cook and clean the house for her husband and kids. Laura attended Jack’s football games and cheered for her son with all her heart. She did the same when Elizabeth was playing in a softball game; Laura would be in the stands wearing an El Reno shirt with her daughter’s number on it. The interesting trait about Laura’s character is she would bake cookies to take to other patients during her chemotherapy visit. She passed away at a shocking age of forty-two, leaving behind her husband and her two young kids. The death of a loved one leaves a feeling of emptiness in one’s heart that people think can never be filled. Eventually, though our hearts are healed, and the mourning is replaced with acceptance and even the ability to smile and laugh about memories involving them. Cancer did not hold Laura back from living a meaningful and impressionable life. Laura impacted everyone’s lives through cancer because of her faith in Jesus Christ.
