Dear, Mr. Warren/Stepdad

I think that schools should ban cell phones because it is not safe for students to have cell phones, students don’t need cell phones, and they are a distraction.

One reason that schools should ban cell phones is because cell phones are not safe in schools. For example every time I research on if cell phones should be banned lots of safety experts say that cell phones are not safe in schools. Another example is if there is an emergency and the school needs to call the police or fire apartment, they won’t be able to come as fast because most parents will be trying to call their kids to see if they are okay, and that will slow the phone network. Lastly, cell phones get stolen a lot and a group of kids have been caught stealing $4,000 worth of electronics. That is one reason why cell phones should be banned from schools.

Another reason schools should ban cell phones is because students don’t need cell phones. For example, students don’t need to call their parents asking where they are going to get picked up because they can use the office’s phone. Another example is, I know kids might

For example, if an alarm or message ding goes off in class, everyone in the room will immediately look to where the sound came from. Another example is, a student could be playing games in class and everyone will be watching the game. If everyone is watching the game it will be very hard to learn. Lastly, “A study released in January 2010 by the Kaiser Family foundation found that total media exposure per day for young people ages 13 to 18 increased from 7 hours and 29 minutes in 1999 to 10 hours and 45 minutes in 2009.” This shows that students can’t possibly be paying attention the whole time in school because to be on a phone 10 hours and 45 minutes per day kids would have to be on sometime during school. That is my third reason cell phones should be banned from

Many schools across the U.S are very strict on their ‘No phones in the classroom “ rule yet many students still sneak in their devices. Most parents and administrators think that the students use their phones in an inappropriate way but it is proven that more then 50% of students use them advisably. With that being said,I strongly disagree with your belief on cell phones. Cell phones have become an essential tool of life and communication with children being the majority…

Far away and long ago a kingdom stood on a hill, within it sat a contented king, a good man much loved by his subjects. His wife was adored by all for she was beautiful and kind, always willing to help those in need. His son was cheered in the streets as captain of the guard, his days were spent defending the kingdom from the many dangerous creatures that abounded in the dark forests bordering the land. His daughter was followed by the children of the kingdom as her fanciful daydreams made wonderful stories and always she had something new to tell. Though his daughter was witty and wise, she was also stubborn and the one source of frustration for the good, old king.…

One of the main reason kids are to come to school, is to learn, but phones are holding students back. As a result, ninety-four percent of high schoolers are on their smartphones daily throughout school. This situation is getting worse and worse everyday, kids are focused on being on there phone in class instead of learning. How are kids ever going to set good life goals, whenever there more focused on what’s going on in there phone, then what’s happening around them at school. However phones can be used as many things in class, phones should be put away during school hours, because phones are a distraction, decreases the time of learning, and kids can abuse the privilege by getting on social media.…

Cell phones are great, but they just cause so many distractions in school. When students ask if they can look up something, they just gonna get on social media to look at how many likes they got on instagram or how many followers they have. Since we have been talking about cell phones as our writing unit, it made me think of so many reasons why we shouldn’t have cell phones in school. One example from an article called “ Schools seek balance for cellphones in class” says that the texting, tweeting, and Snapchatting during class time is an incredible distraction, and it makes it harder for teachers to teach. Another example from the article” Schools seek balance for cellphones in class” is teachers will get kids saying “ I’ll look something up for English, and while I’m here let me quickly check my Instagram or Twitter feed’ From this article, these were some good reasons why schools shouldn’t allow cell phone usage in school.…

A student’s academic performance is important at school but can by jeopardized by small distractions that mobile devices have stored, for instance, entertainment uses and constant notifications from text messages to social media. This decreases student’s ability to excel academically, such as not being able to practice good studying skills or trying to improve grades. In a class room environment, students main focus should be on the class lecture and teacher and not on any disruptive material.…
