Dear Editor,
I believe teenagers could benefit from having some ideas to help them improve their self-esteem. I think they look up to people who offer advice to them. I am a teenager, so I thought I could share a few ideas with you that may help improve the lives of other teenagers.
Some teenagers are afraid to try new things because they do not want fail and be made fun of by their peers. Offer teenagers encouragement to get up and have fun by trying new things. They could find out that they are great at something that they had no clue on. Even if they don’t succeed at something they might get some new ideas for something else. They will never know what they are great at, unless they try. Whether they succeed or fail will help them improve

As adolescents we lack knowledge on how to be truly successful, since we are in transitions of physical as well as psychological development. We have a lot in our plate to becoming adults, and a lot is expected from us to make very important decisions as to what we want to be in life. Marilyn Fegurson, guides us throughout her journey to becoming a dental hygienist, and how interest made her become the person who she is as she developed. In 1968 she graduated with an AAS degree, considering the fact that back in the day women did not have many opportunities to be successful and equality was not apparent. What are key things to keep in mind when working with teens (attitudes, skills, values)? I think the one think that people who are looking to work with teens should keep in mine is to always to look to learn how things are different from back in the days. How it worked and how teens are using it in their daily lives. In 20 years thinks might be different…

The main enemy for a teen that people don’t always see are insecurities. The lack of self confidence or the fear of not only how teens see themselves, but the way in which others perceive them as well. Insecurities latch a hold on high school teenagers and could stay with them as they move into adult hood. The everyday pressures that teens face cause insecurities in both girls and boys. These insecurities then drive those teens to react in dangerous ways, causing huge problems.…

The minimum driving age should not be raised from 16 to 18. In my opinion, teens already have a problem getting where they need to go considering their transportation is usually their parents. By the time they come home from work they are too exhausted to drive anywhere else. Starting out early than waiting until one becomes a legal adult to drive gives a teenager an opportunity to exercise responsibility and to have some independence. Just because teens are prone to do reckless, irresponsible things does not necessarily mean they will get into accidents because they are younger.…
