Some think that competitive sports have benefits but others say that competitive sports have damaging benefits. This article is here to tell parents why competitive sports have damaging benefits. It is clear that teens shouldn’t play competitive sports because teens can have long term injuries and schools are unable buy the safer equipment that comes out. The most important reason is that playing competitive sports can have horrible thing on children is that children can have lengthy periods of health related issues. That's six times more than others that also performed well in the NFL's tests" [(Cost for normal helmet is $340)2017]. This means that this proves schools have less money to spend and only the rich class parents can afford the higher cost. Furthermore, in the article, “High Cost of Youth Sports,” by VisualNews which is a daily news site that inspires and educates for data storytellers and the said in the article, “In the United States, parents spend $671 on average per year to cover the costs of uniforms and the hefty fees charged for registration, lessons and coaching. At least 1 in 5 parents ends up spending over $1,000 per child, every year,"(2017). This demonstrates that this proves that children may get less stuff for home. Additionally, in the same article by VisualNews they say, “The costs can be over whelming up with all the extra things such as traveling lessons coach fees uniform fees sports camps equipment and practice and space time,” (2017).
