On September 20th, the day of our picnic, God gave us a beautiful day filled with plenty of sunshine and cool breezes. So many of our brothers and sisters from other fraternity’s took part in our annual picnic and shared in Franciscan companionship. As I looked around the grounds of the friary and saw our Franciscan Charism flowing among those in attendance, I thought to myself this is what our Charism is all about, sharing, loving, caring, allowing the Holy Spirit to move in us and through others. Thanks to all for the wonderful job in pulling this picnic together.…

Dear Editor, During this constitutional convention, I’ve noticed things that were said on the federalist and the anti-federalist side. I have taken the side of the federalist and agreed completely on what they all have said. We have covered all subjects such as: Separation of powers/checks and balances, the elastic clause, Congressional powers of taxation and war, and A bill of rights. When discussing the separation of powers, we all agreed that having a checks and balances system would suit us best; therefore, there won’t be any one person in charge there would be three branches of government.…

At the beginning of this year, I decided to dedicate my life to Christ. After coming back home from a winter retreat, I concluded that I need to talk to pastor to get baptized, and I did on April 23, 2017. Shortly thereafter, I went on a mission trip to Washington, D.C., where I really got to see God’s works at hand. My mission group and I work woke up one morning to a beautiful sunrise, and magnificent weather. Despite the fact we had to get up at five in the morning, I was eager to see what the day entailed.…

Juneteenth, when the last of slaves were finally free, makes 150 years of being around. Today, Barack Obama, the first black president to live in the White House could make one of his biggest movements in his presidency: apologize for the land of the free. Therefore, many believe no other man could make a more inspiring apology about America’s past sins. Many may argue that an acknowledgment of the wrongs done by the nation have power all alone.…
