If we were to make school year round the costs would greatly increase. One issue that increases is the day to day upkeep and utilities. If a school were to continue through summer they could possibly increase these bills by over 10%. Some schools completely shut down over the summer in an attempt to completely neutralize their bills. Another area that would need more funding would be teachers salaries. They would eliminate teachers summer jobs. Some of the teachers at Forest City shingle or have a daycare over the summer. This would eliminate all these jobs and would stretch them thinner if they didn’t get a pay raise.

One of the especially hard ones they would have to give up would be summer camp. Not only are these summer camps fun for kids, but to some parents, it’s a break from the stresses of parenting. Another issue that makes life tougher for the parents is that during the extended breaks of year-round school there are fewer daycares open. Students of year-round schooling wouldn’t be exposed to as many family vacations.
