Winning and taking a stand are held in different lights to certain people. Some would argue that taking a stand is more important, while others would argue winning is more important. Winning can affect people as one, as a city, and as a nation, while taking a stand is more to one person or small group of people who stand for something, but can have a larger effect if a win or major victory towards fully winning happens. Taking a stand is one of many actions that can lead to winning or failing. Winning is always remembered throughout history but only the stands that turn out as winners or cause a bigger stand that wins are remembered. One such person was Martin Luther King Jr. who was a giant spark for civil rights movements in the USA. MLK’s stand impacted many nations according to Your Dictionary website it states “however, his U.S. civil rights victories and speeches were inspiration for those who were involved in international racial injustice. By 1964 the United Nations' membership had doubled from its 1945 levels. MLK’s stands were able to give people hope and help increase the UN membership of developing countries. His stands were able to help and inspire people to get involved with civil rights and racial equality.
