Persuasive Essay: Why High School Should Start Later?

According to BBC news, wake up for school too early will affect the student’ learning and health, it also can cause sleep deprivation. Most parents would like their kids’ school to start late and ends later. Teenagers wants their high school classes to start late and ends later because they would have enough sleep, have time to eat, have more energy, and so their brain can be more functional.

For students, high school classes should start later and end later in the day because they would have more time to sleep in. They usually have homework from most of their classes and that sometimes can be frustrated because they don’t really have that much time to accomplish it; plus, homework from other classes could takes up to one or two hours, depends on the class they’re taking. However, some students has a job to work after school. These students usually has to work until late at night so they don’t usually have enough sleep due to their off shift time and were exhausted by the time coming to school too early. High school classes sometimes put too much pressure on the students and so that led us to another problem, explaining why school should start late and ends later.

Having enough time to eat will provide energy and nutrients so that will increase students’ concentration in school. When students have more energy, they won’t feel sleepy nor fall asleep in class and plus, be energetic will allow students’ brain to be more functional. Although the school provides breakfast, the food are fast food so it’s not very healthy and could cause them to be overweight. To sum this up, students will be more likely to feel hungry sooner because fast food is just a temporary food for them to eat at the mean
