How ever, one thing that studies have shown that one thing that people do that is a bit unique from what animals do is the way we use and express emotion. For one, humans don’t necessarily use emotion for primarily survival. Think of taking a stroll through a park on a warm, sunny day and seeing a abandoned dog running around. For most, that would tug at their heart strings and would immediately start to feel sorrow or maybe compassion toward the poor creature. Of course, not everyone is so fond of animals and may feel disgust, but nevertheless, most people tend to feel some sort of emotion toward the animal. Now think of an animal seeing another animal that may be cold, injured, or frightened. Unless it was maybe one of their children, they would think nothing of it since, it’s not going to affect them positively by doing anything to help that other animal. Which brings up the point of usings emotion for survival. Animals are going to be less likely to look out for other creatures that they don’t consider to be “family”. It simply won’t benefit them in surviving the natural elements. Since humans don’t have to exactly think about if being kind or helpful will hurt their chance of survival anymore, emotion could be classified as one of the things that makes us
