Persuasive Essay Topic Of Animal Testing

Animal testing is probably one of the most debatable topics of medicine today. It has been used for over a century and a half, and it still continues to expand its usage more and more every year. Although banned in some countries, statistics of others are terrifying, making us question whether it is or it isn’t the right choice when it comes to using innocent animals for research purposes. First of all, animals do not choose to be in a lab. They do not get to choose to be treated like they are, and definitely do not choose to be manipulated by us, humans. Scientists are trying out cosmetics on them, as well as newly developed medicines for different diseases. They examine their possible side effects, which is logically for them a better choice …show more content…
As well as humans benefited from it, animals benefited from it too. Because of the exact sacrifice of that one creature that lives for only a couple of years, presumably hundreds and millions of human and animal lives are saved to this day. Cures for many diseases would have not be in use if it wasn’t for the previous test on animals. Only, it’s not just one creature, it is an enormous number of animals of different species, mostly mice, rats and birds. Despite of this fact, we can not set aside the huge impact on the health of our whole humankind, all around the world. Experimentation, researches and examination are the main things that keeps science finding the way out of all the problems. A small part of me approves this technique only because in the previous centuries the medicine was still not as developed as it is today, so this was the most efficient and practical solution which was in everyone’s favor. But, we have gotten so far, medicine has developed so much that we could easily find other ways of examination, especially with cosmetics which according to me have the least justification for harming. Either technologically, or any other way possible, scientists could find a better solution to this that would suit

Animal Research is, has always been, and will most likely continue to be a delicate subject. The use of animals in research ranges from cosmetics to medical and wherever there are animals being tests there are groups of people arguing the morality and ethics of the testing being done. Excluding cosmetics and the like for now (that’s a different argument), the use of animal research in neuroscience is absolutely necessary and though it is a sensitive issue, there are ways to make it more ethically acceptable and to protect the animals themselves from blatant cruelty. Today, animal research is more humane than it has ever been.…

767,622 different types of animals were used in 2015, and even more in 2016. AAVS reported their annual statistics showing over the years how many animals have been used, and how much they have to suffer due to scientists using them. Animals shouldn’t be put through this kind of conditions, so they shouldn’t be used for scientific testing, because it’s inhumane, it leads to nowhere, and it’s not even accurate. First of all, animals go through very harsh testing, and barely survive. They get inflicted with burns, decapitated, and sometimes even get deprived of food and water for many days.…

Pharmagene Laboratories are one of the few, which have switched to using human tissues, and computers to create and test cosmetic material (About Testing). In the 21st century, technology plays a very important role that can stop the use of animals for research. Some alternatives include virtual test methods and models, computer models and simulations, stem cell research and genetic testing methods, and micro dosing. Human volunteers could also be a key alternative; humans have the ability to speak if they want to undergo a certain experiment no matter how painful that experiment could be unlike animals who are unable to. All alternatives to animal tests prove to be more accurat, more cost-efficient, practical, expedient, and environmentally friendly .…

The main reason why we animal test is for cosmetic research, not medical research, which is the only type that can be half accepted. Medical research for humans on animals means they still do not get the correct results we need because of the two different reactions of chemicals in two different animals. Popular brands hide the way they animal test because they know that when people find out their product will not sell as well. Global warming is also a huge and rising problem on our earth, and by cutting out cosmetic research on animals, it will mean a few hundred less factories running around the world and releasing fumes into the atmosphere. This will mean a lot of jobs lost, but there are plenty more jobs in the world and it will only benefit our world.…

Now days, society can volunteer themselves in clinical drug research for a monetary exchange. With modern science “we can see inside peoples’ brains using imaging machines or test microscopic amounts of new drugs harmlessly on volunteers.” (BUAV.org the campaign to end animal experiments, pg 7) Humans are more willing to volunteer themselves for the money, but also because strict health and safety precautions are put in place for their well-being at all times during the study. Humans can also communicate their side effects and pain occurrence which provides sound and optimal results for future modifications and or dosages. Unfortunately, animals cannot communicate these important factors, which in turn is useless.…
