These are some of the best memories that most people have; the memories of being little and being able to do what you want without having to worry about anything. These are the memories that we all cherish the most, but, unfortunately, 600,920 people in the United States alone will lose the chance to experience memories like these because they are taken away by cancer. These people are more likely to be diagnosed with cancer at a later stage, when treatment can be more extensive, expensive, and less successful giving them little chance to survive at all. Which is all due to not being able to afford insurance because of this very disease. Cancer is growing fast and taking a lot of people with it, and as it grows more and more people need hospital attention, leading to it being more expensive and leaving people unable to afford the cost of keeping themselves and their family safe. Now, you’re probably thinking, why should you care? In fact, a lot of people ask this question about a number of things, they think that it should not matter to them because everyone has this preconceived notion that bad things, such as cancer, will not happen to them because we are too big of an impact in other people’s lives or we are too busy to be put in a situation like this. When, in fact, that is one of the worst things you can think when it comes to something as bad and deadly as this. Cancer does not care how busy you are or how important you are; cancer will attack anyone at any given time and you never know when it could infect you or someone you know. It is on us to stop it from destroying families, friends, and even our communities, if we do not act now it will keep growing into a bigger and more advanced problem. Now you are probably asking, “Ok so what do I do about it?” There are many ways that you can help those in need, one way is by donating to cancer research. Cancer research helps give money to very successful scientists, which allows them to be able to purchase the right supplies and resources to be able to study cancer and understand the Biology behind cancer and go a long way to being able to develop a cure for cancer. Not only does cancer research help find out things about cancer that will help us come with ways to treat cancer now, but it also helps us lay the foundations for the next generation of cancer treatments that will save millions of lives worldwide. These include personalized medicine where patients will obtain treatment tailored to their cancer, immunotherapy which harnesses the immune system to target cancer, better radiotherapy and improved surgery. One of the procedures to come out of cancer research is called immunotherapy, which uses the body’s immune system to target cancer, attack it,
