Ever since we have the ability to think for ourselves, we dream big. Part of those dreams have to do with going to a big fancy school that is sure to guarantee you a spot in the spotlight. What brings those dreams down is the amount one has to pay for tuition. President Obama proposed a plan with an objective of having the number of people with college degree increase, and in order to do this he is proposing to making community college free. There is a wide range of people who agree and disagree with President Obama’s plan, I personally believe that community college should be free nationwide. For this reason I strongly agree with President Obama’s plan to making community college free because it gives those who are lost a chance to figure out where exactly they want to see themselves within the next five years of their lives.While doing this they won’t be wasting time throwing the chance of education away, if they attend community college, they can be taking their general classes, and also saving money for a bigger brighter future attending a school that best suites them. To be I believe that it’s a waste of money transferring from a community college to a CSU or UC. I 'm not implying that a community college isn’t nearly as good as a university because I truly believe that no matter where you go, if you really want a strong education they can get one. What I am implying is that if a community college were to be free, the money that could 've been used for that tuition, can now go towards paying off the school that best benefits they’re intended career …show more content…
The government loves to cut back many programs that don’t seem to have any benefit to them or what they work for. Matt Reed said, “Anything identified as ‘for the poor’ is easier to cut” and I completely agree with him because the government isn’t always too concerned about helping the poor. Having a diverse environment in community colleges nationwide can show that there are many student of all races and ages who are interested in earning a degree, in starting their lives over, in wanting to become something better of themselves, and that all starts with the best education. Why add on the stress of having to pay for classes that everyone takes, I’d understand if I had to pay for classes that benefit only me and my major, but not for classes that everyone is doing
