Essay #1 An anonymous author once said “Be somebody nobody thought you could be”. This quote is inspiring because people think good grades can’t be obtained while playing sports. Strive to stand out by achieving good grades and by being a star athlete. People may make fun of athletes like football players for being less intelligent, but they don’t know the athletes’ grades. They don’t know the intelligence level of each player on or off the field. Regardless of how easy or difficult school is, one should always strive to be the best. Grades should take priority, so if they start to slip, the sports had to take a back seat to allow for more study time.
Most athletes need school to be successful in life. Since most athletes are not talented enough to make it to the pros, they need to complete a college education. Trying to figure out a career path while in college can be very costly. A Bachelor’s degree can take up to 4 years to obtain. If the career path is changed at any point, it could extend the college experience in time and extra costs. Some colleges cost up to $29,000 a year and some cost as little as $6,000 per year. That is still a lot of money to spend, so figuring out a career path as early as possible is the most cost effective way to achieve a college degree.
