Persuasive Essay: Should We Have To Pay For College

Decent Essays
Why should we have to pay for college when it's just like a regular school and why should we have to pay if we don’t have to pay for high school or middle school. If we have to pay for college then why don’t they make us pay for any other types of schools and why should we have to pay for college when you spend a lot of money just to go to school that makes you pay for classes and everything else.Is college over rated or is a good thing you have to pay for college if you choose to go and spend a lot of money and put you in big deibt which you are gonna have to pay off so you dont have to deal with it later on in life?College is good in some ways but not all ways because you have a lot of money that you have to pay off from your student loans but the way it can be good is where you get a really successful job that has good pay so you can pay of you student loans really quick so you don't have to deal with that for ever.If college was affordable would you go or would want to pay the full amount to go or would you just not go at all.

Community College Should Stay the Same I don’t agree with Barack Obama’s idea of having free community college. There is many points that you will have to consider when you think of free community college, such as the professors not have the same wage that they are earning as if now. There will be students that might not take the education seriously, their mind will be that since it’s free it will not really affect him/her but as it won’t affect their budget it would affect the university that they'll be attending after community college. I also believe there is no point on making community college free because it is not expensive at all compared to universities but if you think that the tuition you are going to be getting is expensive there…

Free community college for the first two years around the whole country many would either like this idea or dislike it. This idea was brought by President Barack Obama but some students from Rio Hondo College are disagreeing with his idea. Some think this isn’t a very good idea because there are some people who can afford paying for it and those who get low income get help which is practically free for them already. As in others think that it should be free which would allow students that want to go to college but they don’t receive enough funds to be able to go which ends up causing them to just work and not go to college due to low income. College shouldn’t be free if people can afford it and those who can’t should be getting help which…

About 40 years ago, the American public decided that the only way to be competitive and gain an advantage in this world was through a college education. Higher education has been lamanted as “an economic imperative”(Owen and Sawhill 208) that can no longer be seen as optional or supplemental for people hoping to to attain a job in the workforce. This means that without getting a degree, you are not only shirking your responsibility as a functioning member of society, but you are also cutting yourself out of your own possible economic prospects. This relatively new attitude towards higher learning resulted in noticeable shifts throughout the country. We expanded college preparatory courses throughout the nation’s public schools and started…

Why College Should be Free for Everyone One of the things people think of when they think about college is the cost of attending. Many people I know, peers and parents alike, are going or have gone to college with the intention of using loans to attain the ultimate goal, their degree. If America is so progressive, then why hasn’t the cost of college been lowered instead of going up yearly? College should not force people to go into debt for the majority of their lives to get a degree.…

School is a necessary system worldwide to invest in a society 's future. The primary argument as to why educational institutions should be free in the U.S. is not to give everyone the equal opportunity to education as stated by Lawrence (a professor of History emeritus at SUNY Albany) although it is one of the reasons, the primary reason is to increase the number of educated workers to hopefully improve our economy. It is stated that an “educated work force has become an essential component of economic growth and competitiveness (Student Aid Alliance). However, college tuition filters out those who are not willing to pay for their education and also funds universities so that they are able to function and upgrade their facilities. College should not be free because it would lead to tax raises, the value of a degree would decline, and the overall quality of the educational environment would decrease.…
