There is a reason schools shut down for three months for summer break, and it’s not a good one. Originally, the system was created to allow children to help their parents on the farm over the warm harvesting months. This system was created during the 1900’s. Since then, the multiple aspects everyday life have changed, and so should our outdated school schedule. Converting American public schools to year long schedules would help keep the students’ brains more refreshed, help less privileged children, and increase building capacity.
