Persuasive Essay: Should School Days Be Longer?

People today would like to have shortened school days. I would like to say that I agree with some of those statements. It’s not that I don't like school it's the fact that I agree that people waste too much time in their classes and don't get any homework done. For example, if a student is give a in class assignment, they will not do it because I don't know if it's the fact that they are too lazy to search for the answers or if they just get bored of classes. There are people that want school days to be shortened and others that want school days to be longer. I believe that the school days should be shorter because a large amount of time is wasted during study halls and when they are given in class time assignments. It would be better if school days were shortened because they would have less time to work on assignments because they would not work on them anyways. They say that kids that would have shorter school days would have more time to mess around and not do homework. When they go home some kids do not do any homework at all. Students will be given more time time to play video games instead of doing homework. Teachers do not know what they do at home but some kids have the time to do homework but waste time watching tv or playing video games.

People also say that longer school days could help raise the results of those who are struggling in their school work. The report by the commons education committee says new guidance is needed on how extended school days can help young kids from disadvantaged communities. The current trend over the subject about longer school days says that it is an opportunity for school to provide space and time for students to complete homework. People say that school days should be at least an hour shorter because they would want classes to have an extra 10 minutes for students to start
