Should Pit Bulls be Legal Is your pet capable of murder?! Probably not, but in Illinois there was a man who owned a pit bull. He left it chained up in his backyard and never gave it much attention. When he did give it the attention he would only teach him games like tug-a-war and such. One afternoon his neighbour's kids were outside playing. The dog overheard them and escaped from his chain to run over to the little girl, jump on her, and bite her to receive the toy. He thought he was playing seeing as that's the only way he knew how too. So a little girl is sent to the hospital and a dog is put down owing to the fact that his owner didn't properly take care of them. Banning pit bulls will get rid of amazing pets, it won't teach people how to proply take of their pets, and. Banning pit bulls will affect so many things in a more negative way than positive. Back in the 1800s through the 1900s pit bulls were called “nanny dogs” since people would use them to watch their children. Therefore, saying pit bulls aren't fitting with children and can't be family dogs is silly. Some believe that pit bulls are born aggressive and that's not the case. More often than not pit bulls are taught to be aggressive. That isn't their fault because they have no control over how their family treats them. A lot like a child. That if you don't take care and train your dog like you're are supposed to it could become more aggressive. “Getting a dog is not like purchasing a piece of furniture that you will show off to friends at dinner parties, it is bringing a new member into your family and requires daily commitment for a successful relationship.” Getting a pit bull is getting a new member of the family and should be treated as

Some individuals may argue that pit bulls should not be allowed to be kept as pets due to a few of the vicious crimes they have committed in the past, however, the entire pit bull breed should not be punished for the act of a few of their counterparts. While recently looking up Canadian laws, Animal Rights popped up and seemed very intriguing. From thereon, the Dog Owners Liability Act surfaced and it states “The owner of a dog is liable for damages resulting from a bite or attack by the dog on another person or domestic animal.” This law does make sense that the owner should take the responsibility of their dog because they were the ones who raised the dog to be the way it is but the one sub issue found with this law is the Pit Bull Ban. The total ban on the Pit Bull breed in Ontario is unacceptable because the government shouldn’t be targeting just the one breed because of the actions of several individual dogs, Pit Bulls shouldn’t be treated differently from other breeds, and if the government is already banning a whole breed, what is going to stop them from banning a bunch of other breeds that have the same attack numbers. Throughout this essay, it will be proven that the total ban of Pit Bulls is ridiculous and the law should be revoked.…

The problem is also local and immediate, as Denver, Colorado, has a city ordinance that bans the ownership of pit bulls, a ban that only has a basis in stereotypes and not in reality. As a breed, pit bulls should not be banned, as their stereotyped behavior is not directly related to their disposition as a breed, and measures can be taken by human owners to ensure that they are raised to be well behaved. CAUSES Pit bull behavior is, for the most part, dictated by factors outside of their genetics, and pit bulls begin their development at conception and…
