When I was 5 years old, I got a trophy for coming in last at a soccer tournament. I was angry, because I was a smart little kindergartener. I was upset that someone would give me a trophy for doing poorly. From that day on, I never accepted a trophy for something I didn’t deserve or lost in because I knew the trophy would become meaningless. Trophies for everyone has become a hot topic between parents and kids alike, some arguing that everyone getting trophies is great; some arguing that it needs to stop. Trophies should not be given out to everyone because a person has to work for a trophy, giving trophies to everyone can send the wrong message that people win everything, and it could put the idea in kids’ heads that you need an object for
