First and foremost, banning animal testing would keep animals away from abuse and other forms of mistreatment. Animals deserve the right to live in their natural habitats and to be safe. These animals, for instance, rabbits and guinea pigs (which are most commonly used in the U.S.) do not deserve to be poked and prodded and injected with various drugs and poisons, blinded with cosmetics, or cut open just to test how safe a product would be for a human. Some would argue that without animal testing, we wouldn’t have had these amazing scientific and medical breakthroughs, and we wouldn’t know if skin products or medicines would be safe enough for us to use.
These same people might not have taken into consideration that animals do not react the same way as humans do to certain products, …show more content…
There are multiple methods, including the In Vitro method, where humans willingly donate their cells and tissue to be tested on (Peta). This method provides better results, seeing as they’re human cells having consumer products meant for humans tested on them. This alternative method allows scientists to really understand the reaction a human would have to certain drugs or chemicals often found in the products that we use. Scientists have also found a way to computerize a human cell and digitally test its reaction. Animals are not harmed by either of these methods, nor are humans since the cells are given willingly with consent, and I believe that they are very smart alternatives to animal
