Skateboarding, a diverse extreme sport, is a fun and exhilarating activity if done properly. Among all the various sports and activities that Western culture houses I find skateboarding the most enjoyable due to its freedom of expression and self; however, it also lends itself to be one of the most dangerous sports in the world with 150,000 injuries a year. First, a good pair of skate shoes. These shoes can range anywhere from Nike to DC, but I suggest Vans Classic Pros for starters because they pair well with almost any skateboarding style. Once you have bought yourself a nice pair of shoes, you will need a board. Each skateboard has a unique deck with grip tape, two metal trucks, four wheels, eight bearings, and some nuts and bolts. When it comes to purchasing your board, you should venture out to your local skate shop for two reasons: one to support local business, and two because the employees are usually quite helpful at assisting you to find the gear you will need to set up your board. After you have bought your skateboard, you will need protective pads. When it comes to skateboarding the only way to learn genuinely is by falling, and a lot. I suggest every beginner to purchase a helmet, knee pads, and wrist guards. If you want to go the extra mile buying elbow pads is also a good idea, but in my opinion not necessary. So now that you have all your gear, compile some old raggedy clothes, preferably that cover most of the visible skin on your body. Skateboarding is a rough process learned through trial and error, and error in this case usually means falling. Because of this, it is likely that you will fall and rip your clothes, so wearing something inexpensive and unimportant will serve you

Slide Board Product Information The first slide board was designed by Former Miami Dolphins football player Jeff Markland and his initial purpose was to use in the rehabilitation of injured knee joints (Lloyd, 1992). Markland created his own model, and called it Kneedspeed, after having seen Eric Heiden, a gold medal speed skater in the Olympiads using a similar product (Lloyd, 1992). Then, Markland associated with Kathy Stevens of Reebok and they developed the Reebok slide board (Lloyd, 1992). In the 1990s, slide board came into the fitness field which also is called lateral slide training, but it did not gain much popularity; because the lateral sliding movements seemed unnatural if you lack the inner thigh strength to boost your bodies across the board (Lloyd, 1992).…
