When you say “Dark Ages” or “Middle Ages,” my mind immediately goes to the Black Death, also known as the Bubonic Plague. There's nothing good to say about this plague, only negative, horrible things. If you didn't already know, the Bubonic Plague was a sickness that spread through Europe faster than you caught the stomach bug going around your school. It was much worse than a stomach bug, it killed an estimated total of 20 million people, and nobody had a cure. The Crusades were wars that were originally supposed to capture the Holy Land, well that never happened. Did I mention there were eight Crusades? That's eight wars that never did their intended job, does that sound like a good thing to you? Nope, didn't think so. Can you imagine how many people die in one war? Yes now that you have that, multiply that by eight. That equals the Crusades!! Yes good job Pope Urban II for killing all those soldiers!! Obviously that was sarcastic, because those were such a horrible events to occur. Sure I'm in eighth grade, and to me that certainly feels like eight wars. But really? Were eight Crusades really necessary? Were all those people’s lives really worth it? I think I should spell it out: D-A-R-K
