Zoos and aquariums provide endless entertainment for most of the population, but for the animals in cages, tanks, and terrariums, it is not so fun. The animals in zoos and aquariums are stolen from a vast and endless environment and are then shoved into a smaller setting. They can no longer hunt, exercise, and bond with other animals. The animals are solely kept, to make profit for businesses. To make more money, animals are forced to breed, as it is found that humans loves to watch newborn animals. The unnatural change causes psychosis and physical health problems to the caged animals. In the past few years, Sea World has been all over the news headlines, calling for reformers and social activists to end the harsh conditions it practices. Many argue that they are educational to their children and allows them to create a bond with the animals. The only problem is that animals act completely different in the wild vs. the zoo, so how is it educational when their behaviors are altered? Another reason why some people believe zoos should continue to open is because they prevent animals from being endangered. Most of the population in zoos are stolen from the wilderness and have no reason of being held captive. However, there are a few cases were animals were hurt and needed medical attention. The releasement of the captive animals are highly unlikely, as they are not prepared to go back to the wild. The only answer to help population size, is to protect animals who are already in the wild and not take them in. Animals should not be locked up for prisoners because they are amazing to watch.
