As an international student, I had the opportunity to travel around a lot of place. There is beautiful place in the world however there are places where people suffer so much. At fourteen years, I was leaving in Togo, a country in West Africa. It is a country where there is poverty and people suffer of hunger. I remember an older guy who came up to me and ask if I could give fifty cent so he could buy food for his children. Every day about 24,000 people die from hunger or hunger related causes according to the World Food Program. Most of these deaths are children under five years old. According to the World Food Program, 795 millions of person do not have enough food and suffer of malnutrition. In developed country like France or the united …show more content…
Some people even throw it away. If there is some much food why people suffer from hunger. People should wonder the reasons why, there is so much hunger issue in the world. Firstly we should define world hunger. In this context, hunger is not a feeling caused by the lack of food but according to the World Hunger Education Service, it is refer as malnutrition which is a condition when the body do not get the right amount of food it need to be healthy. World hunger should not be a problem because there is plenty of produce in the world. The world grain production is more than a 1.5billion and should be enough to supply the world population (Clayton Brough). “This grain combined the current production of other foods such as meat, fruits, vegetables, and nuts is enough to provide each adult and child on earth 3000 calories a day which is what the average American consumes” (Clayton Brough). However, some people still suffer of malnutrition. World hunger is due to political, socio-economic and environmental issue. In most developing counties, farmers do not go school and do not have the knowledge or the financial resource to get the technology to produce under the changing climate. With the changing condition and changing, old method to grow food to not work always.
The tobacco industry is one cause of world hunger. To grow tobacco, most forest and plantation will be cleared. Also the production of tobacco destroyed the soil, which means the farmer on the land nearby could not produce anymore.
