Persuasive Essay On Unsafe Abortion

Abortion is more dangerous and can really put peoples life at risk than most people are aware of. In fact, “47,000 women die a year as a result of complications of unsafe abortions”(“Preventing Unsafe Abortion”).When most people think of abortion some may feel like it is harmless, but as we already know it is lethal to the fetus, but most people don't consider the fact that it can also be lethal for the mother as well. As a result more and more people are becoming more informed. “In the United States, only 10 states have made abortion illegal. Those states are; Idaho, Iowa, Utah, Louisiana, Kansas, Virginia, Mississippi, Indiana, Ohio, and South Dakota” (“10 States Where Abortion Is Virtually Illegal For Some Women”). Although it is a start to the minimization of abortions, it would be better if more states also made abortion illegal. Those states that do not run the risk of more women in their population dying over unsafe abortion, and more babies being killed and more lives being ruined. Educating more and more people on the topic of abortion would really extend peoples knowledge and maybe even more states would be open to making abortion illegal as well. Although we cannot give up, there should be more laws that prohibit abortion or at least raise the expectations on the requirements such as health wise or age wise or ever circumstance wise. Educating people on the resources they are provided can help lower abortions, even sex ed at school are a great deal of help. People need to comprehend and understand that abortion is not a problem that should be viewed lightly.
