What is legal and what’s illegal. Most or almost all things related to alcohol is illegal. However, there are a few legal exceptions. 45 states in the whole United States allow underage drinking, but there are some regulations and certain uses for them. 29 of them allow alcohol for private homes and private property, but parental guidance needs to be present. There are some religions that allow it for their religion. As expected there’s some states for medical purposes, government usage, and educational purposes (surveys, studies, etc.). Pennsylvania is one of the more stricter states of the 45. Pennsylvania’s only use for underage alcohol consumption is for a medical need or emergency. When drinking, some may think that they will only have one drink. This is where Peer Pressure and Addiction come in. Peer Pressure is an influence from members in a peers group. Basically, friends can sometimes make others do good choices or bad choices. In this case, itś a bad choice. Peer Pressure does not have any specific statistics because it is all up to people’s decisions. In most cases, anyone gives in to trying alcohol because friends are doing it and they want to seem cool and “fit in” (KidsHealth). Giving in to “just one drink” can also getting addicted. Addiction is different than binge drinking. Binge drinking is 4-5 or 5-6 drinks in a short amount of time. Addiction is having a few drinks every single day. Binge drinking can be once a day, but addiction is way worse. Comparing the 2, binging alcohol can just mean getting very sick the next day or a headache. That’s temporary. Addiction affects all parts of the body and is kind of like smoking; it will take some serious effort to get out of the “spell” and not being addicted. Another name for alcohol addiction is just Alcoholism. Most Alcoholism cases come from Peer Pressure, so there can not be a cure before getting addicted.
