Well, despite the victory today, if Santa Anna escapes, he has the remainder of the Mexican Army, some 5000 men, nearby that could march quickly to San Jacinto and probably cause Sam Houston and his 1000-1500 men to resume his retreat across Texas. Despite the new outburst of year-round schooling across the nation, I have the firm belief that we should retain the traditional system. Most schools who have switched to the year round calendar switched back to the traditional one because the anticipated instructional advantages haven’t materialized. In some cases, it even results in a drop of one to two percentile points in national rank for reading, math, and language scores, compared to a traditional calendar. It is not a good idea to keep making this change.…

While the SAT and ACT tests are intended to provide a fair assessment for students across the nation, they are simply not an accurate representation of a student’s potential because of the different circumstances which surround a student. Many colleges have realized that standardized test scores do not equate to the success of a student and…

I know for sure I want to introduce the world of Middle-Earth to my students. J.R.R. Tolkien is a wonderful writer that just describes world that doesn’t exist but he writes it in a way that makes you see it clearly. In high school, I didn’t read a variety of books that was fictional and had supernatural themes. I only experienced that outside the classroom, and I don’t want my students to follow the same path I had to go down.
