Persuasive Essay On The Armenian Genocide

The Armenian people and the Jewish people were both placed under horrible, inhumane conditions. The Nazi’s will always be notorious in history for what they put the Jewish and the other minorities through during their reign of terror. The Nazis did horrendous things to those who did not die such as human experimentation, torture, starvation, and other atrocities. The Nazi’s showed no mercy and displayed the most sinister side of mankind imaginable to it’s prisoners. The Turkish people are not known to be as cruel as their Nazi counterparts, but saying they did no evil is a lie. Armenian people were put under terrible circumstances, ranging from rape, torture, starvation, and being killed for sport. As they were starved and deprived of water, many people wanted to just die. The Turks not only killed the Armenians, they killed their spirits. Although the Armenian genocide is not known to be as sadistic as The Holocaust, it put people under conditions that should never take place on this planet. The real reason that the Armenian genocide is not known to be as traumatic as the holocaust is because the Turkish government refuses to recognize it as ever happening. The Turkish government has banned all mention of the event, and has even punished those who do speak of it. And the reason that other countries tend to stay away from the subject is because Turkey is part if the UN and Turkey has been known to cut ties with countries who speak of the event as “genocide”.
