Food is a commodity that every single person needs to live life to its fullest, but it also plays a much larger role than just a consumable. Cooking, eating, and sharing food brings people together, such as families. During special events, such as Christmas and Fourth of July, siblings and parents enjoy to gather and communicate, so they can celebrate and make their family moments memorable. However, it seems tedious to just visit and interact in one day. To make the moment more memorable, families cook and gather a variety of side dishes to show that they care about each other. When they eat at the dinner table, they share their thoughts as they bite down on their delicious delicacies, thus giving them a feel of home. Having a sense of home makes one remember the moment from day one to the next, and that is how families feel on Thanksgiving Day. Siblings and parents come from long distances to meet at one place, and …show more content…
There is no worry about relying on someone to cook and bring all the food to the dining table; instead, each family member has to make their own individual dish. Even if he or she does not have any experience in being a chef, that person has to make what he or she knows best. This type of responsibility makes the holiday a family effort, for how much food is in the potluck depends on every member’s devotion on cooking their dish. At the end, when the family piles up their dinner table with appetizers, entrees, and desserts, they dig into the meals and enjoy the eating experience. As each member eats away of the buffet, they feel glad that everyone fulfilled their part in making the potluck happen, so they become open-minded and socialize. Together, the chattering and crunching at the dinner table makes the tradition of Thanksgiving potlucks a great family bonding moment. It is certainly a day for families to remember from year to

At the point when southern style turkeys came into the standard a couple of years back my thinking was the reason would somebody upset flawlessness. Filling your home with floating fragrances of broiling turkey and sneaking crests at the cooking turkey is an enormous piece of Thanksgiving convention. This is the point at which the inescapable happened I attempted a southern style turkey. I was in any event extremely amazed.…

Have you ever wondered where your turkey came from when it comes down to sitting down for the Thanksgiving meal? Most people go to the store to buy their turkey but some go to the woods to get their animal. Australia day commemorates the anniversary of the arrival of the first fleet on the 26th of January 1788. To some, it means the beginning of the dispossession of aborigines and the lost of their culture, but to others that was the birth of a great nation. This time of the year sparks many debates on whether Australia day should be celebrated or not. Chris Berg contends that the emergence of Australia as a great and powerful nation cannot be pinpointed to a certain date, nor is the 26th of January necessarily a date to rightfully celebrate on in his article ‘there is much to celebrate on Australia day’, in which he adopts an evaluative tone. Alternatively, in her article ‘changing the date won’t fix Australia day’, Celeste Liddle argues rationally…

Every year on Thanksgiving break I have gone to my grandparents house to stay for the week. For me this is important because my grandparents live a good ways away and I barely get to see them. This became a tradition when I moved away from where they live because that's when our other traditions ended like on wednesdays we used to meet somewhere and eat dinner but we can’t do that any more so we thought that Thanksgiving break is a good time to go see them because we have off school and they can get off work. The whole time we are up there we laugh cook and have fun together.…

Since it is Christmas time, the Southern people will cover their houses in lights, put the Christmas tree up with decorations, and…

In America they would gather to celebrate Thanksgiving and they will do so at the dinner table. The meal, with roots in the ancient traditions of harvest festivals and in the religious fervor of the Puritans who settled here, has grown into a secular feast of abundance. Whether taking place in Duluth, Minnesota or at the Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, the American tradition is to roast a turkey and eat it along with a slew of side dishes, all in the company of family and friends. So here’s the thing: while it is an iconic food, no one would argue that a roast turkey is the American national dish – turkey on multigrain for lunch aside. Plopping a turkey on an overladen table is reserved almost solely for this day.…

600 million pounds of candy are bought every year for Halloween, which totals up to a whopping 1.9 billion dollars. Kids around the world are enjoying the fun of it yearly, which is great in my opinion. Even though nearly everyone loves Halloween, there are still some flaws I’ve seen while trick or treating, or in the news. Whether it is wasting candy, lacing it with drugs, or unenthusiastic people, I think we need to change it. If I could change something in the world, it would be the way we give out and eat candy for Halloween.…

Good Moring Mrs Davies and class, Celebrating our national day on the date of British settlement in 1788 has never been a date that brings all Australians together, no matter how many flags we wave or happy barbecues we may enjoy. For many Indigenous Australians, the date is no holiday but a reminder of their country being taken over by others. It completely disrupted a way of life that had been undisturbed for 50,000 years. The date of Australia Day is a disrespectful celebration towards aboriginal Australians.…

To whom this may concern, Some people may feel as if Black Friday happening on Thursday isn’t a huge controversy, but the majority of people believe it is. It has been an American tradition since 1975 and because of it being moved to the day of Thanksgiving a lot of people have seemed to forget the importance of Thanksgiving. That is why I believe all stores should hold off their Black Friday deals until Friday (5:00am). I believe stores should hold off on Black Friday because it takes time away from families. Thanksgiving is the one holiday out of the year that everyone comes together to give thanks for everything that they have.…

Do you think students should have their full week off for Thanksgiving? Well I know I do and my plan is in this essay is to show you why we should have our full weekend for Thanksgiving. My first reason is we shouldn't because if you take Monday and Tuesday you mess up family's that have planned to go somewhere they can't and they have to cancel and the bad part is those family's might not get their money back. And my lead to this is one day in fourth grade we had 30 students and like fifteen checked out on a day that was a Student/Staff holiday because we used our last snow day.…
