Texting and driving has become a major epidemic in our society. It might not seem like much of an issue, but there has been many deaths that have occurred due to this. Driving while intexticated distracts the driver which puts the lives of many innocent civilians in danger so that is why awareness needs to be brought on this subject. Almost everyone behind the wheel has experienced temptation to answer the text message, in fact a study shown back in 2011 that twenty three percent driver's age eighteen and twenty involved in car wrecks admitted to either have texted or driven while being on the road at the time of the crash. America has some programs in place which do help young and experienced drivers be more safe while on the road for examples AT&T has this option where you can neither send or receive text messages “ It can wait” ,you take a pledge and get to be alongside of the 4 million people who've pledged to not text and drive. Another program that is similar to the one about texting and driving would have to be “click it or ticket “ which encourages the audience to buckle their seatbelts in the front and rear seat so in case of an emergency they won't be flying across the fronts glass. Just like buckling your seatbelt should be a common thing it should be the same way for texting and driving ,but in our generation they like to avoid this memo and go on and defy this law risking their own health. College students are the most vulnerable to this type of situation for example ,they received a notification that their class is canceled due to an emergency and the teacher sends it while the student is behind the wheel on his or her’s way to class ofcourse the student is going to have to view that message, that's when the situation gets
