Many people have seen,heard, or may have experienced a car crash involving a phone. Thousands of people die from texting and driving. These paragraphs are going to be talking about the effects of texting while driving, what do the laws do now to prevent texting while driving, and what age group gets affected by it the most.
The effects of texting while driving are always bad no matter the conditions. In 2011 national data shows cellphones were involving in 350 fatal crashes (Gabrielle Kratsas). That was just 2011 and it’s now 2016 and way more phones made and think how many people text and drive now. According to 1800nowhurt.com NCS estimates that 25% of crashes just involve cellphone use. That’s ¼ of crashes just involving a phone which is scary. 34% of people admitted they text while driving (vdriveusa.com). So that means there are 66% of people who don’t admit it.
Every year hundreds of people die every year. One of the major ones is texting while driving 39 states out of the United States banned texting while driving (Austin). This is a good thing so no one gets hurt but we all know people still do it. You can get a ticket for texting while driving and while stopped at a stoplight surprisingly.
